Affiliate program terms

These terms govern your participation in the Claude Fundraiser affiliate program. By checking the agreement box on your application, you accept these terms in full. Plain-English summary up top, full provisions below.

Plain English

1. Commission

We pay you 30% of the gross amount Stripe captures on the first paid checkout of any customer we attribute to you under section 2 (Attribution). Gross amount is the price the customer paid, before Stripe's processing fees. No tax is deducted at source; you're responsible for your own tax filings (see section 6).

Plans and payouts at the time of these terms:

Plan prices change occasionally. The commission rate stays 30% unless we notify you in writing 30 days before a change.

2. Attribution

Visitors who click your unique link set a first-party httpOnly cookie that lasts 90 days. The first affiliate cookie a visitor receives is the one we honor (first-touch attribution). Once a visitor signs up, the cookie value is locked to that user account, even after the cookie expires.

We do not use third-party cookies, browser fingerprinting, or tracking-pixel networks. Attribution is exclusively first-party cookie + post-signup user-id linkage.

3. Clawback (30 days)

Every commission lands in "pending" status. After 30 days with no customer refund or chargeback, the commission auto-promotes to "approved" and becomes withdrawable. Refunds or chargebacks inside the clawback window reverse the commission entirely. Chargebacks landed more than 30 days after the original charge are not clawed back from you; we absorb that loss.

4. Payouts

Payouts run through Stripe Connect Express. You complete a 3-minute KYC flow (identity, banking, tax form) on Stripe's side. We never see or store your banking details. Once your approved balance clears $50, you initiate a withdraw from your dashboard and Stripe transfers to your bank, typically within 2-3 business days. Stripe issues your year-end tax forms automatically.

We do not auto-pay. You decide when to withdraw. Approved commissions never expire.

5. FTC disclosure (United States) and equivalents

You must clearly and conspicuously disclose your affiliate relationship with Claude Fundraiser on every post, video, newsletter issue, podcast episode, or social-media message that contains your affiliate link or promotes the product. A reasonable reader should not be able to miss the disclosure.

Acceptable phrasings include: "Affiliate link — I get a commission if you sign up", "Sponsored by Claude Fundraiser", "#ad", or equivalent. Place the disclosure before the call-to-action, not at the bottom of a long thread or in a hashtag cloud.

Failure to disclose is grounds for immediate suspension and forfeiture of unpaid pending commissions. We don't want to enforce this. Just disclose.

6. Taxes and contractor status

You are an independent contractor for the purpose of this program. We do not withhold tax. You're responsible for declaring your commission income in your jurisdiction. Stripe issues you a 1099-NEC (US) or W-8BEN-handled treatment (non-US) at year-end based on the data you provide during Connect onboarding.

7. Prohibited promotion methods

8. Suspension and termination

We may pause or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms. Approved commissions accrued before the suspension are still payable when you clear the threshold, unless the violation involves fraud. Pending commissions tied to the violating activity are reversed.

You can leave the program at any time. Pause or close your affiliate account from your dashboard. Approved commissions remain withdrawable for 12 months after you leave.

9. Changes

We may change these terms with 30 days' advance email notice. Material changes (commission rate, clawback window, attribution model) bump the terms-version string and require your re-agreement before further commissions accrue.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms or your account: reply to your application email or write to team@claudefundraiser.com. We respond within one business day.
